What is Laser Hair Removal?
Laser hair removal is a procedure using a specialized laser focused primarily on melanin. Melanin is the pigment present in many hairs. When the beam pulses, the hair follicles absorb the light energy, which is converted to heat which damages the root of the actively growing hairs so the follicle is no longer able to produce hair as efficiently. After quality procedure and sufficient number of treatments are applied, you may expect the treatable hairs to be destroyed.

- What age can I receive laser treatment? Any adult of any age as long as the hair you want treated is pigmented and not red, blonde, white or grey can enjoy successful results.
- Does it hurt? Everyone has different levels of sensitivities and certain areas may be less comfortable than others. Many of our clients are taken aback at how little discomfort they experienced. We ensure that any discomfort is manageable.
- Will hair grow back? Sometimes. Laser hair treatment targets hair follicles, stopping new hair growth. So most of our clients do not experience new hair growth after laser hair treatment. Changes in hormones, however can lead to increased hair production. Usually one will come in for a touch-up for more permanent results. Even in cases of regrowth, the new hair is typically fairer and thinner than before treatment. Our laser specialists evaluate your health and treatment history to help you determine if laser hair treatment is right for your individual needs.
- How many treatments do I need? We typically recommend a minimum of 6 treatments initially due to the fact that hair grows in cycles spaced weeks apart. This is why we space our clients treatments 4-12 weeks apart, depending on the areas they are having treated.
